The world of Even Ra is a vast and diverse world. It is a world
of magic, and mystery; adventure can be found by any who have
the courage to seek it out. As adventurers, young and old, travel
through the continents they create tales for themselves that
may someday become the legends of their children. Excitement,
danger, wealth, love, glory; all can be found in Even Ra. It
is a great land, but it is not as great as it once was.
In the beginning, the gods formed Even Ra, they crafted the
seas and the land, and they placed the suns and moons in the
sky. Once Even Ra was completed, the gods made the races to
fill their world. The gods placed the races on Even Ra and left
them to grow and populate the world. Millennia passed, and the
races grew in knowledge, power, and wisdom. At first the races
clashed with one another, but eventually a Great Peace came
to Even Ra and there was great joy and happiness.
For many years there was peace over Even Ra, but the peace was
finally shattered by the coming of a deadly virus, a virus that
struck the food supplies of all of the races. This virus caused
food shortages and led to a war between the races. The war raged
on for many years. At the climax of this war, a group of Ithaerian
mages began to draw energy from Even Ra’s suns to power
a mighty spell that they could use against the other races.
The Ithaerian mages lost control of the spell and it backfired,
destroying them and shattering the face of Even Ra. This event
was known as the Cataclysm.
The magical blast caused Even Ra to be shrouded in a blanket
of ash. The ash cloud blotted out the suns and much of the life
on Even Ra passed away. The races survived by retreating into
caves and eking out an existence in Even Ra’s underground.
For twenty years the ash cloud hung over Even Ra, then the ash
settled and the light of Even Ra’s suns reached the surface
once more. New plant life grew to replace the old, and eventually
the races came out of the underground and populated the surface
once more.
It has been more than 600 years since the Cataclysm and Even
Ra has once again become a lively, vibrant world. It is once
more a land of adventure. Ruins from before the Cataclysm lie
hidden in the wilderness, beasts of the wild and evil creatures
from the underworld rise up and threaten all living beings.
There is glory and renown to be earned, it only awaits someone
to come forward and claim it.
