During the ancient wars of Even Ra, the gods saw fit to try to help while staying out of the war all together. In this they created messengers. The messengers were bird like creatures that could portal from plain to plain to deliver word of the war and the status of all living things. The gods named this messenger race the Ha’karii.
The gods thought it fit to not disturb the balance of the wars so they decided to make the Ha’karii a neutral race that could be welcome on any side. When the Ha’karii were first created, the gods gave them wings. This would make it possible for them to get from place to place much faster. In addition they did not want them to be mindless slaves so intelligence was necessary.
Over the span of the war, the other races of Even Ra asked the Ha’karii to serve as judges because of their neutral nature. As the war began to come to an almost complete halt, the god held a meeting. The meeting was to decide what to do with the almost unneeded creation that had served them for the better part of a hundred years. The council had decided to disband them and send them to the Earth to live and act as the eyes and ears of the gods.
The Ha’karii got wind of the decision that had been made by the council of the gods. Most of the bird like race did not want to go to the lands and serve as puppets.
One day on the plain of gods, the Ha’karii held a meeting in privet to decide what it was they wished to do. It was decided that there would be no more servitude. The rebellion began shortly after this day. It took the gods no time at all to banish the Ha’karii to the Earth plain of Even Ra. In doing so, they also striped them of their wings and ability to plain shift.
In making them mortal, the Ha’karii had no idea how to survive on the land, but over time they evolved and made the lands their home. They also managed to evolve their wing bones and muscles into operational hands and arms.
Incapable of independent flight, the Ha’karii turned to their roots. With the ability to communicate with mundane birds, they used their non-transformed “cousins” for a variety of purposes. Smaller birds were used as reconnaissance, while giant birds were used as mounts and transported the Ha’karii from place to place.
Because of their neutral involvement with many wars, they were already known to the world so it was not hard for them to begin relations with the other races of Even Ra.
